The Louisiana Department of Wildlife and Fisheries has temporarily closed the fishing pier located at the Lake Bistineau spillway as a safety precaution following a recent inpsection. The pier, located in Bossier Parish, consists of a portion of the old Highway 154 bridge that was abandoned when the Officer Thomas LaValley Memorial Bridge was completed in 2002.
The pier will remained closed until further notice. For more information regarding Lake Bistineau, please visit http://www.wlf.louisiana.gov/lake-bistineau.
